Working safely takes teamwork. We are all responsible for creating a safe and healthy working environment, not only for our own employees, but also those of subcontractors and suppliers. It must be a natural part of the process. Safety is in your bones. At Visser & Smit Hanab we work safely, or we don't work at all!
Safety protocols are interwoven into all of our daily operations. This obviously pertains to project execution, but also to the design phase. How can we minimise the risks? What methods and resources do we have at our disposal? The Visser & Smit Hanab management system for quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) provides extensive, in-depth answers to these questions.
It meets the highest certification level of the special petrochemical contractor safety checklists in the Netherlands and is also OHSAS 18001 certified. Moreover, our QHSE system is periodically audited by outside experts.
For the safety of our own employees, as well as visitors and the employees of contractors and suppliers, we draw up a Health & Safety plan (HASP) for every single one of our projects. It outlines in detail all the risks and safety measures. Anyone at all associated with our projects must adhere to these safety requirements. In addition, we encourage people to discuss any potentially unsafe situations with one another, so that everyone can be sure of returning home safe and sound at the end of the day.
