Downward or upward welding with solid or cored wire. We are experts in every automated welding technique: from Lincoln STT to FCAW and GMAW to dual torch GMAW. In fact, Visser & Smit Hanab is the only provider in the Netherlands of automatic downward welding with solid wire. Given the time it saves, this technique is of particular interest for pipes that have thick walls or are large in diameter.
In addition to the automated welding of pipes and pipelines 'in the field,' this technique can be used for prefabrication or to weld valves in station construction. The most common pipe steel used is L485 X70, but we weld pipes and pipelines of almost any kind of steel.
We have the most modern automated welding equipment available for use on transport pipelines and valves. And it is not only our welding equipment that is state-of-the-art, but all our other 'tools' are too. For instance, we use internal hydraulic pipe clamps during the welding process whenever possible. Our employees have years of experience, along with the specific know-how for preparing any kind of pipeline and the expertise needed to oversee use of the welding equipment.
Visser & Smit Hanab always complies with all safety requirements and the applicable Dutch NEN standards. We are also certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 3834, VCA-P, KiWA CKB and other certification bodies.
